Off The Record is to partner with Gaelic arts organisation Fèis Rois to host a day of presentations, seminars and workshops for young people interested in working in the music industry.
Taking place at Inverness’ Ironworks on Saturday 25 February, it follows the recent sold-out event in Glasgow’s City Halls, and will focus on key themes including releasing tracks, organising/getting gigs, promotion and the many career options in the business.
Open to anyone aged 14-25, Off The Record provides insights from a broad range of industry professionals and past attendees have picked up airplay (including BBC Radio Scotland), festival bookings and a range of work opportunities as a result of taking part.
Confirmed speakers for the Inverness event include photographer Jannica Honey, Chris Beltran (DF Concerts / Atlantic Records Regional Scout), Catriona Angus(QMU Glasgow), Margaret Chrystall (Highland News), Olaf Furniss (Scotland on Sunday / Born To Be Wide), Michael Lambert (A Modern Way Management) and Ailsa Harper (Banana Row). More guests are set to be announced in the coming week.
